Shane Guy
Shane Guy is the Senior Technician for Narrative and Interactive Arts at Nottingham Trent University. His researches are based around early twentieth-century projection devices and the manufacture of new equipment for projection. He produced his research as a performed son et lumière for the Association of British Theatre Technicians. This was performed at the Waverley Studio, Nottingham Trent University. The 1958 production of The Flying Dutchman at Sadler’s Wells was one of the iconic uses of theatrical FX projection. Shane Guy’s installation recreated all the effects from the initial storm, the arrival of the Dutchman’s ship and the finale.
