Shujen Wang

Shujen Wang is professor of media studies in the Department of Visual and Media Arts at Emerson College, and a research associate in the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies at Harvard University. Author of Framing Piracy: Globalization and Film Distribution in Greater China, Shujen Wang’s research interests include media globalization and platformization, film distribution and piracy, global copyright governance and issues surrounding networks, space and technology. In addition to having contributed chapters to multiple anthologies, her work has appeared in numerous journals such as Cinema Journal, International Journal of Cultural Studies, Asian Cinema, Positions, Public Culture, Theory Culture & Society, Journal of Communication Inquiry, Visual Anthropology, Gazette, Text, Asian Journal of Communication, Media Asia, among others. Her work has also been translated into Portuguese and Chinese.
