Simon Mark
Dr Simon Mark’s research encompasses cultural diplomacy, photography and design. His University of Auckland doctorate explored the cultural diplomacy of Canada, New Zealand and India, and he has published articles on aspects of the practice. He has had, or been involved in, eighteen solo and group exhibitions since 1998. He project managed the first ever assessment of the value of design to the New Zealand economy (published by PwC in 2017). Dr Mark has worked in a range of sectors in New Zealand and overseas, including with New Zealand’s foreign ministry, as New Zealand trade commissioner in Fiji, and as director of the Museum Directors’ Federation.
