Sofia Gaspar

Sofia Gaspar is a senior researcher at CIES-IUL, ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. She has coordinated several projects on family and migration and has published several articles on conjugal dynamics, migration trajectories, transnational networks, social capital and second-generation education and social integration. Her recent publications include the co-authorship of the book Southeast Asian Migration: People on the Move in Search of Work, Refuge and Belonging (Sussex Academic Press, 2015), and papers on Chinese migrants in Portugal (Journal of Chinese Overseas, Sociologia – Problemas e Práticas). Her current research activity is focused on the Chinese community in Portugal and Europe, particularly the social integration of immigrants’ descendants.
