Sofia Rios
Sofia Rios was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. She received an Australian Government Research Training Programme Award that allowed her to work on her joint Ph.D. through the Monash Warwick Alliance within the Film, Media and Communications HDR Programme at Monash University (Australia) and the Department of Film and Television Studies at the University of Warwick (UK). Her research interests are Mexican telenovelas, remakes and teen television. Rios received the 2016 Julia Peluso Memorial Prize in Film and Television Studies. Her research has been published in the Journal of Popular Film and Television, Journal of Iberian and Latin American Research and Critical Arts.
