Sogen Moodley
Sogen Moodley who holds a Ph.D. in urban planning is known internationally for his knowledge in City-to-City (C2C) learning while Technical Chair of the UCLG Learning Forum. After serving as a senior planner at the eThekwini Municipality, he conceptualized and managed MILE – a knowledge management initiative that supported local government capacity building in the global South for nine years. After 21 years in local government, he is currently a research associate at DUT’s Urban Futures Centre, publishing internationally on African capacity building and urban planning. He is also a consultant completing assignments for UCLG, Platforma and the SA Cities Network. His interest in identity and space was catalysed during his latest role as Executive Producer of SA movie Kandasamys: The Wedding.
