Steph Schem Rogerson
Steph has a PhD in Communication and Culture from the joint graduate program at Ryerson/York Universities, and an MFA from The School of Visual Arts in New Yor. Her dissertation Without Words You Spoke: Queer Representation, Early Photography and Feeling examines discursive technologies and the relations between despotism and social reform at the turn of the nineteenth century. Recent publications include: “Queer Feeling and Early Photography” in Engaging Affects, Thinking Feelings: Social, Political and Artistic Practices, Cambridge Scholars, 2016 and “Why Capitalism is Failing,” TOPIA: Canadian Journal of Cultural Studies, 2017.
