Steven Dewaele
Steven Dewaele is currently running EU-funded GDPR awareness raising campaigns and toolkit development projects for the Belgian Data Protection Authority. Prior to this, he was associated with VUB to co-lead a study on behalf of the EC (DG CNECT) on the implementation of the new provisions in the revised AVMS Directive. Steven accumulated broad experience at strategic positions in policy and regulation for Tech, Media and Telecom markets at both national and EU level. From 2003 until 2009, he has taken on different leading and expert roles in Belgian ministerial cabinets developing and pushing forward digital policies. Steven obtained his master of science degree in electrical engineering in 1995 from the University of Ghent.
