Stuart Moulthrop

Stuart Moulthrop is professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and coordinator of the specialization in media, cinema and digital studies. His digital fictions in the 1990s and early 2000s were instrumental in the development of cybertext theory. Between 2003 and 2010, he helped build a first-generation game design programme at the University of Baltimore. In Milwaukee today, he co-directs the Digital Cultures Collaboratory – a joint project of faculty, staff and graduate students supporting the Serious Play channel on Twitch. Moulthrop has collaborated with Dene Grigar on Traversals (MIT Press, 2017) concerning the preservation of early electronic literature, and with Anastasia Salter on Twining (Amherst College Press, forthcoming), a combined critical/practical study of the Twine platform.
