Sumukh Mysore
Sumukh Mysore, better known as Smokey the Ghost, is a rapper from Bengaluru, India. As a OneBeat 9 Fellow, he received support from the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and the NYC-based arts organization Found Sound Nation to participate in a month-long residency aimed at using music to develop strategies for arts-based social engagement. Mysore has been rapping for almost twenty years and is responsible for co-founding Wanandaf: a one-off meet and greet that has eventually evolved into a burgeoning Hip Hop community with several young rappers and beatboxers. Besides being a rapper, Mysore is also a protein biologist with numerous patents to his name as well as the co-founder of Muse Diagnostics, a manufacturer of medical devices.
