Suprapto Suryodarmo
Suprapto Suryodarmo is a Javanese movement artist, the founder of Joged Amerta Movement and the Padepokan Lemah Putih school in Solo, Java, Indonesia. His method revolves around dialogue and sharing in free movement within a conceptual, fluid and evolving framework which often includes Buddhist influences. His intention is to facilitate ‘blossoming in being’ and to develop the means for ‘lessening (our sense of) identification’ (with unhelpful or illusory ways and forms of being) through the practice of movement art. Joged Amerta also encompasses a mix of moving-dancing from the attitude and values of Javanese culture.
