Susan Abbott

Susan Abbott has more than twenty years of experience working in international development, with a focus on democracy promotion, independent media and civil society strengthening and internet freedom/digital rights. Prior to joining Counterpart, she provided consulting services in the areas of business development and monitoring, evaluation, research and learning to a variety of organizations, including: Access Now, Albany Associates, the Center for International Media Assistance, Cloudburst Consulting, Free Press Unlimited, Global Forum for Media Development, Global Investigative Journalism Network, ICFJ, International Media Support, Internews, IREX, Media Defence, NORC, University of Chicago, Social Impact, Thomson Foundation and the World Association of Newspapers. She is a non-resident fellow with the Center for Media, Data and Society at Central European University and is a doctoral researcher at the University of Westminster in London.
