Susanne Hackett
Susanne Hackett earned her Ph.D. in 2020 from the Stone Center for Latin American Studies at Tulane University in New Orleans. This essay is adapted from her doctoral dissertation. She is a 2021 recipient of the Monroe Fellowship through the New Orleans Center for the Gulf South and currently teaches Spanish at Tulane.
