Syntia Hasenöhrl
Syntia Hasenöhrl is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Political Science at the University of Vienna (Austria). From October 2016 until October 2020, she was part of an interdisciplinary DOC-team project, which was funded by the Austrian Academy of Sciences and affiliated with the Vienna-based research platform ‘Mobile Cultures and Societies’. Her dissertation project explores opportunities for postcolonial political mobilization that emerge from interactions with a Malian-diasporic online news portal and related social media. Her broader research interests include intersectionality, postcolonial theories, critical discourse studies and mobility studies.
