Taeko Imura

Taeko Imura is a lecturer and Japanese programme coordinator in the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science at Griffith University. She received her Ph.D. in applied linguistics and post graduate diploma in Computer-assisted language learning (CALL) from the University of Queensland. She has extensive experience in teaching Japanese for over more than two decades at primary, secondary and mostly tertiary levels in Australia. She has been involved in international research projects and other projects based in Queensland and at Griffith University. Her recent project involves the development of online professional development course for Queensland teachers funded by the Department of Education and Training. She has a long-standing interest in second language acquisition, proficiency testing, motivation in foreign language learning. Her recent work focuses on Japanese popular culture and learning Japanese, mobile learning and blended learning and teaching.
