Tanja Kerševan Smokvina

Tanja Kerševan Smokvina is an assistant professor the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Social Sciences and researcher of media policies and regulation, journalism and platform governance at Centre for Social Communication Research. Before joining the academia, she spent a part of her career working in the Slovenian media and communications regulatory authorities. She served as state secretary at the Slovenian Ministry of Culture from March 2019 to March 2020. Internationally, she has worked with the Council of Europe, European Audiovisual Observatory, UNESCO, OSCE, OSF and EU funds and instruments. She contributed to the work of the CoE CDMSI sub-committees; in 2016–17 as Member of the Committee of Experts on Internet Intermediaries (MSI-NET) and in 2018–19 as Member of the Committee of Experts on Artificial Intelligence (MSI-AUT).
