Therèsa M. Winge

Therèsa M. Winge is an associate professor in apparel and textile design at Michigan State University. Winge researches subcultures and popular culture in order to deconstruct their visual and material cultures, dress and narratives that reveal structures of meaning and identity. Her first book Body Style (Berg, 2012) is about subcultural body modifications, and her second book, Costuming Cosplay: Dressing the Imagination (Bloomsbury, 2018), focuses on the global fandom of Cosplayers. Winge is currently researching political dress in the United States and writing a book about science fiction and fashion.
