Tiago Brandão
Tiago Brandão is Ph.D. researcher at IHC, FCSH-UNL. Tiago has experience in the Portuguese history of science policy and its comparison with different historical processes. Along with a published Ph.D. in contemporary history, on the Portuguese history of science policies and the later creation of the National Board of Scientific and Technological Research, JNICT (1967–74), has several publications, where stands ‘The European ideal of a university’ (2014), ‘A formação da JNICT e a política científica no período pós-Abril’ (2015), ‘Caminhos históricos da política científica portuguesa’ (2015), ‘Shaping Portuguese science policy for the European horizon: The discourses of technological change’ (2015), among others, including publications in co-authorship like the book chapters ‘Best practices as mimesis? Innovation policies in peripheral countries’ (2017) and ‘Relaciones entre científicos, organismos internacionales y gobiernos en la definición de las Políticas de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación en Iberoamérica’ (2016), the colective book (coord. by M. F. Rollo) Ciência, Cultura e Língua em Portugal no Século XX (2012), and the articles ‘História e Memória da Ciência e da Tecnologia em Portugal’ (2012) and ‘Pensar e Mandar fazer Ciência. Princípios e pressupostos da criação da Junta de Educação Nacional na génese da política de organização científica do Estado Novo’ (2011).
