Tiago Carvalho
Tiago Carvalho holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Cambridge. He is a researcher at the Center for Research and Studies in Sociology of the ISCTE-Lisbon University Institute where he works at the project HOPES, and he is a member of the Center on Social Movement Studies. Previously, he was a research fellow at Scuola Normale Superiore and the Free University of Bolzano. His work focuses on contemporary modes of political action from social movements and political participation to political parties and populism. Moreover, he has an interest in and works on social classes. His forthcoming book, Contesting Austerity, will be published with Amsterdam University Press (Series on Protest and Social Movements). His research appears in Social Movements Studies, Portuguese Journal of Social Sciences, New Media & Society, Childhood, Análise Social, among others
