Tim Jones
Tim Jones has specialized over the last 35 years in intercultural research and performance, with particular interest in voice and sound. He teaches through ‘The Nature of Sound’ workshop programme and shares ‘somatic music practice’ in a variety of contexts. Songworlds, a creative conversation through song, inquiry and Amerta Movement continues with research into its clinical application with CSPP (Centro Studi di Psicologia e di Psicosomatica Clinica) (Pescara) and with courses in Germany and the UK. He is a staff member of Energy, Collaboration and Wellbeing (ECW), an ongoing Group Relations Conference. He studied Carnatic music with Sivasankara Panikkar (1984–2007) and is Amerta Practitioner since 1992. He has recently contributed a chapter ‘Formative trainings in carnatic vocal music: A three-way conversation through time’ to the book Time and Performer Training (Routledge, 2019), and ‘The musical portal’ in Embodied Lives (Triarchy Press, 2014).
