Timwa Lipenga
Timwa Lipenga is a lecturer in African and Caribbean Literature in the Department of French, University of Malawi. Her research interests include life writing and popular culture. Her articles include ‘Les Dynamiques de partager un récit: Auteur, autorité et auto-récit dans Moi, Tituba, sorcière…noire de Salem’, Journal of Humanities, 24 (2016), and a biography of Malawi’s first female cabinet minister, Lomathinda: Rose Chibambo Speaks (Logos Publications, 2019). Her chapter on Zimbabwean writer, ‘Re-writing the City: Women’s occupation of urban space in Vera’s Butterfly Burning and Under the Tongue’ has been published in Helen Cousins and Pauline Dogson Katiyo’s Emerging Perspectives on Yvonne Vera (Africa World Press, 2012).
