Tina Barouti

Tina Barouti is a lecturer in the Department of Art History, Theory, and Criticism at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She received her Ph.D. in the History of Art at Boston University. Her research on Morocco’s National Institute of Fine Arts in Tetouan was supported by a US Student Fulbright Fellowship and a US State Department Critical Language Scholarship. Barouti was the curatorial and editorial assistant for Moroccan Trilogy: 1950–2020 at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía. She is a curatorial consultant for Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art and a researcher for the Association for Modern and Contemporary Art of the Arab world, Iran, and Turkey (AMCA)’s ‘Mapping Art Histories’ project supported by the Getty Foundation. In 2019, Barouti participated in the Center for Curatorial Leadership Mellon Foundation Seminar.
