Tom Cardwell
Tom Cardwell is senior lecturer in fine art (Painting) at UAL Wimbledon. His Doctoral thesis ‘Still life and death metal: painting the battle jacket’ (UAL 2017) employed painting practice as a research methodology to explore the importance of customized jackets in metal culture. His research interests include subcultural image practices, contemporary painting and personal narratives in art and craft.
