Tua Helve

Tua Helve is a costume researcher, designer and educator. Her scholarly focus spans the history of Euro-American dance costume, with a special interest in costume in twentieth- and twenty-first-century choreographies. Related to Tua’s doctoral thesis ‘Costume design and collaboration in Finnish contemporary dance in the early twenty-first century’ (2022), her research has been published in the journals Scene, Studies in Costume & Performance, Nordic Journal of Dance and Choreographic Practices. In her artistic practice, presented in Finland and internationally, Tua explores collaborative creation and specializes in contemporary, process-based working methods. She regularly lectures and tutors students in academic institutions internationally.
