T’uy’t’tanat-Cease Wyss is an interdisciplinary artist who works with digital media, writing, and performance as her multidisciplinary arts practice. She is a community-engaged public artist and ethnobotanist. Her works range over 30 years and have always focused on sustainability, permaculture techniques, and Coast Salish cultural elements and have included themes of ethnobotany, Indigenous language revival, Salish weaving, and digital media technology. Wyss has emphasized connecting her Polynesian roots to her Salish roots through weaving and digital media projects and on raising the visibility of land-based works. Through collaborations with Anne Riley (A Constellation of Remediation and For the Radical Love of Butterflies), Wyss has raised awareness as to how Indigenous communities can unite to highlight sustainability and protect species at risk.
