Tyler Matheson
Tyler Matheson is a queer interdisciplinary research-based artist based in Toronto, Canada. Matheson’s research is focused on identifying the ephemeral essence of queerness through objects and the shared moments of potentiality they elicit. Matheson’s work aims to identify and articulate intergenerational epistemes and exchanges through histories of collective queer desires expressed through visual art and culture. Central to his practice is an urgency to build intergenerational connections and community through queer experience and knowledge sharing. He is a Ph.D. student in McMaster University’s Communications, New Media, and Culture program. He holds a BFA from York University and MFA from the University of Waterloo. Matheson’s work has been published in Cornelia, Femme Art Review, Off Centre, Peripheral Review, and dArt Magazine.
