Tyler Riordan

Tyler Riordan is a postdoctoral research fellow at The University of Queensland Business School. This role involves the evaluation of post-disaster reconstruction incentivization programmes against physical, financial, social and emotional resilience. In his previous role, he co-authored the Queensland Tourism Workforce Crisis Resilience and Recovery Strategy (Queensland Tourism Industry Council, 2023). He holds a Ph.D. in hospitality and anthropology, and his thesis investigated the experiences of migrants who work in platform-based food delivery. Tyler’s broader research examines how disadvantaged workforces navigate employment, training and the digital platform economy. Tyler has over eight years’ experience in the hospitality industry and a professional background working on education and community development programmes in Australia and Latin America.
