Ulf Hagen
Ulf Hagen, born in 1951, is a teacher in media technology and game design at the School of Communication, Media and IT, at Södertörn University, Stockholm, Sweden. Together with two colleagues he started a bachelor degree education in game design called ‘The Game Programme’ in 2011. Since 2009 he has also been a Ph.D. student at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences at Stockholm University. Ulf’s research field is (digital) game design, and his main interest is the pre-production phase in game development, especially game idea creation and player experience design, and how game designers articulate and communicate their ideas and visions about the game-to-be. During 2009 and 2010 Ulf participated in the DKV project – Appreciation Practices Among Digital Creatives, which is financed by The Foundation for Baltic and East European Studies (Östersjöstiftelsen).
In the future Ulf wants to further investigate how professional game developers carry out the omplex process of making an AAA game.
