Ulrike Ettinger
Dr Ulrike Ettinger is a freelance visual artist, researcher and author based in Berlin. Her Ph.D. thesis, completed at Bauhaus University Weimar in the field of art and media, questions the state exploitation of folk costume in socialist Romania. Subsequently, much of her current artistic and academic research and curatorial work focuses on traditional costume and crafts – from the perspective of representation, fashion, modernity, consumer goods and cultural and identity politics.
