Uma Swamy

Uma Swamy, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of marketing at North Carolina Wesleyan University. Her research focuses on localism, small business, sustainable textiles, and retailing (Fibershed), and qualitative methods as well as using interpretive methodologies to understand the consumer experiences of consumers. She has presented papers at conferences, including the International Textile and Apparel Association and American Collegiate Retailing Association, and published in the Sustainability journal.
