V. F. Perkins
V. F. Perkins (1936–2016) was honorary professor of film at the University of Warwick. His publications included Film as Film (Penguin Books, 1972) and the volumes on The Magnificent Ambersons (1999) and La Règle du jeu (2012) in the British Film Institute Film Classics series. He was a founder editor of Movie, the journal in which much of his film criticism was published, and a member of the editorial board of its successor, Movie: A Journal of Film Criticism.
