Valentina Montero
Valentina Montero is a researcher, independent curator and journalist, specializing in media arts, holding a BA in aesthetics and a Ph.D. in advanced studies in art production from Barcelona University (2015). Her works focuses on the intersection of art, technology and society. She has curated several exhibitions in institutions such as the National Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Contemporary Art of Chile, Centre of Photography of Montevideo, CINUSP of Sao Paulo, CCCB and Festival Loop Barcelona, among others. She has published in academic journals like Aisthesis, Artnodes, Leonardo Almanac and ACM, as well as in books and artists’ catalogues. Currently, she is a professor in the Master of Media Arts programme at the University of Chile, an associate professor and the director of the master in research-image creation and a member of the academic staff in the interdisciplinary doctorate in humanities at Finis Terrae University. Additionally, she is the founder and director of PAM/ Plataforma de Arte y Medios, a project supported by ANID/ Fondecyt (11230449), dedicated to promoting experimental arts based on technology.
