Valentina Signorelli

Valentina Signorelli is a senior lecturer and course leader of BA Media and Communication at University of East London. Her fields of research include Italian cinema, transmedia storytelling, celebrity politics, EU migration and immigration in the Brexit era. She is also a professional writer, director and producer, co-founder of the Italian transmedia production company Daitona and its advertising division, DOGODOT. As a director, her documentary Where is Europe? (2018), filmed on board the NGO rescue vessel Aquarius, won the 2018 London Independent Film Award and has been screened in over 30 festivals around the world including the Washington Immigration Film Festival. She is also the lead writer of short-film and VR experience Happy Birthday (Giovenga 2019) produced by RAI Cinema with One More Pictures and presented at the 2019 Venice Film Festival.
