Valérie Frappier
Valérie Frappier is a French-Canadian settler who grew up in so-called Ontario between Lake Simcoe and Lake Ontario, spent formative years in Montréal, Cork City, and Toronto, and is currently based in Halifax in Mi’kma’ki. She is a writer and cultural worker who is curious about how artists utilize creative practice to engage with memory, historical narratives, and the more-than-human, and how these engagements facilitate alternative understandings of time and place. She holds an MFA in Criticism and Curatorial Practice from OCAD University, in addition to a BA in Gender & Women’s Studies from York University and a BFA in Art History/Studio Arts from Concordia University.
