Vera Borges
Vera Borges is researcher at DINÂMIA’CET, ISCTE-IUL – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and an associate researcher at the University of Lisbon Institute of Social Sciences (ICS-UL). She has a Ph.D. in sociology from École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales and FCSH-Universidade Nova de Lisboa. She has developed her research work on culture by focusing on professions, organizations and artistic labour markets. She has published several books and articles, including Todos ao palco! Estudos Sociológicos sobre o Teatro em Portugal (Everyone on Stage! Sociological Studies on the Theatre in Portugal) (Lisbon: Celta, 2001), Les comédiens et les troupes de théâtre au Portugal (Actors and Theatre Companies in Portugal) (Paris: Harmattan, 2009) and Teatro, Prazer e Risco (Theatre, Pleasure and Risk) (Lisbon: Roma, 2008).
