Veronika Poier
Veronika Poier holds a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Vienna, where she teaches art history. Prior to this, she taught political humanities of the Middle East at the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) and at Harvard University, where she received her Ph.D. Poier’s research is concerned with the preservation of artistic skill in times of war. In this context, she participated in workshops with the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture (2023) and contributed to the Revive the Spirit of Mosul UNESCO initiative (2018). Poier is preparing a book on cultural transfer during warfare under Ottoman Sultan Mehmed I (r.1413–21).
