Waldemar Kuligowski

Waldemar Kuligowski is a professor in the Department of Anthropology and Ethnology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. He is also an editor-in-chief of Czas Kultury (Time of Culture) – an academic and cultural quarterly. He has conducted fieldwork in Poland, Germany, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Spain, Serbia and Albania and published a number of books including Art in Contemporary Cultural Systems: Central and Eastern Europe (Poznań: Wydawnictwo Nauka i Innowacje, 2014); Sterile and Isolated? An Anthropology Today in Hungary and Poland (Poznań: Wydawnictwo TIPI, 2015) and Cultures of Motorway: Localities Through Mobility as an Anthropological Issue (Poznań: Wydawnictwo TIPI, 2016). His research interests focus on the theory of culture, reflexive ethnography, the anthropology of the motorway, festivals and festivalization. His essays and articles have been published in the leading Polish newspapers and magazines.
