Yasen Al-Nasayyir
Yasen al-Nasayyir is a prolific literary and cultural critic who wrote a number of books on modern Iraqi theatre. He has also written many articles and two books on the theatre of Yusuf al-Ani. Among his major works are Wajhan li-wajh: dirasat fi-l masrah (‘Face to face: studies on the theatre’) Baghdad: The Writers’ Union in 1976 and Fi al-masrah al-Iraqi al-mu’asir (On Contemporary Iraqi Theatre) Belgium: Sahara 93 in 1997.
