Yik Chan Chin
Dr Yik Chan Chin is a lecturer in media and communication at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University’s Department of Media and Communication. She is also the co-chair of the IAMCR’s Public Service Media Policy Working Group, treasurer of Giganet and Multi-stakeholder Steering Group (MSG) member of the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF). Dr Chin researches into the areas of media and communication policy, regulation and law, and Internet governance. Her current research projects focus on Internet governance and social media in China; big data ethics and communication ethics in the artificial intelligent context. Her latest publications include ‘Internet governance in China: Exploration of power relationship’, in Zhengxu Wang and Dragan Pavlicevic (eds) Social Relations and Political Development in China: Change and Continuity in the ‘New Era’ (Routledge, 2020), ‘Legitimation of media regulation in China’ in Chinese Political Science Review (2018) and Television Regulation and Media Policy in China (Routledge, 2018).
