Yomi Ogunsanya

Yomi Ogunsanya holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in anthropology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. His specialism is anthropology of media, a field to which he has been contributing book chapters and journal articles. He was a Cadbury Research Fellow in the Department of African Studies and Anthropology, University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, in 2016, and a recipient of the African Humanities Programme Dissertation-Completion Grant of American Council of Learned Societies in 2013. In addition to teaching aspects of Anthropology and Media Studies at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan, he is currently conducting research on the circulation and consumption of Hausa (Kannywood) films in Sabo locations in Southwestern Nigeria.
