Zulfiqar Deo
The Swat Valley Guild (SVG) was co-founded by Zulfiqar Deo (author) and Wali Khan in 2016. This is a peace-building project, supporting the artisan heritage in the Swat Valley region of Northern Pakistan. The Guild has been organizing support in a way that helps the region meet its UN Sustainable Goals. Zufi’s focus is on strategy and marketing within the SVG and he specializes in co-creating innovation with entrepreneurs. A UK Top 50 Business Advisor for 2014 and 2018, he has an action-learning-based MBA in international business management and is a fellow of the RSA. Wali Khan has supported a local emerald mining project set up in the Swat Valley region, creating 500 jobs. He also helped the resettlement of families in the Swat Valley after the recent counter-insurgency initiative by the Pakistani army. He has an MBA from Liverpool University in finance and management. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management (CMI).
