Amanda Niland
Amanda Niland is a senior lecturer in early childhood in the Sydney School of Education and Social Work at The University of Sydney. She has had a long career as an early childhood educator, music educator and researcher in early childhood, early intervention and university settings. Amanda is a passionate advocate for the arts, and especially music, as central to young children’s lives and their individual, social and cultural identities. She regards music as a powerful resource for bringing children together, thus creating inclusive early years communities that support children’s holistic development and well-being. Amanda is former chair and was an ECME commissioner from 2010 to 2016.
