Aurélie Matheron

Aurélie Matheron is an assistant professor of French at Skidmore College. Her primary research field is decolonial French and Francophone visual arts. Her research and teaching explore the relationships between contemporary arts and ecology in Francophone diasporic movements. Her work has been published in French Cultural Studies (2019), Contemporary French and Francophone Studies (2021) and Nouvelles Etudes Francophones (2019). In 2018, she was awarded the Prix Jeune Chercheur at the Conseil International d’Etudes Francophone for her work on waste and ecologies in contemporary Senegal. Her current project explores the ecological implications of Francophone Afrofuturism in contemporary French-speaking African literary and visual fiction.
