Bengt Johansson

Bengt Johansson, Ph.D., is professor in journalism and mass communication at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. His research and teaching focus on political communication, risk and crisis communication. Among his latest publications are ‘To publish or not to publish? Assessing journalism ethics in news about a terrorist attack’ (Journalism Studies 2021, with Marina Ghersetti), ‘Maintenance and reformation of news repertoires: A latent transition analysis’ (Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly 2021, with Kim Andersen, Johannes Johansson and Adam Shehata) and ‘When the rally-around-the-flag effect disappears, or: When the COVID-19 pandemic becomes “normalized”’ (Journal of Elections, Public Opinion and Parties 2021, with David Hopmann and Adam Shehata).
