Elaine Speight

Elaine Speight is reader in curatorial practice and place at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). Her research interests surround the capacity of art to interrogate, mediate and critique the connections between people and place and the politics of public space. Since 2005, she has co-curated the public art initiative In Certain Places and she is currently developing a project called Feed, which challenges attitudes towards infant feeding and human milk in public space. Elaine is director of the Creative Practice Research Academy (CPRA) at UCLan and a trustee of the Cumbria-based arts organization, Art Gene.
