Filipa Antunes
Dr Filipa Antunes is lecturer in humanities at the University of East Anglia, where she researches childhood, horror and media regulation, with a special interest in children’s horror. Her monograph, Children Beware! Childhood, Horror and the PG-13 Rating (McFarland, 2020), identifies the children’s horror trend of the 1980s and 1990s and connects it to key shifts in the cultural boundaries of childhood and horror in the United States with dramatic consequences in the film industry. Filipa’s work has also been published in Journal of Film and Video, Journal of Children and Media and others, and is forthcoming in The Oxford Handbook of Children’s Film and elsewhere.
