Gemma Potter
Gemma Potter (Ph.D.) is a research associate at Manchester Metropolitan University working across the Community, Culture and Heritage and Making and Materiality research groups within the Design Hub. Her recently completed doctoral research explores crossovers between craft and video game play, asking what value these overlaps could provide for industry in the north-west of England. By utilizing creative practice, her research contributes to our theoretical understanding of the relationship between textile practices and video games and sheds light on the potential value of this relationship in contexts beyond individual practices through the creation of a series of ‘graft-games’.
