Harfiyah Ball Abdel Haleem
Harfiyah Ball Abdel Haleem is an academic PA, freelance book reviewer, writer, editor and voluntary environmental activist (trustee of IFEES/Eco-Islam). Haleem holds an MA Oxon (English) and MA SOAS from the University of London (Islamic Societies and Cultures). Haleem’s book reviews were published in the Muslim World Book Review, Journal of Qur’anic Studies (Edinburgh University Press), New Internationalist, Arabia and Journal of Islamic Studies (Oxford University Press). Haleem has also published an article on ‘Animal rights in Islam’ on Globalethics.net. Haleem is the co-editor of The Crescent and the Cross: Muslim and Christian Approaches to War and Peace, co-edited with Brian Wicker et al. (Palgrave Macmillan, 1998). Haleem has also contributed to the chapters and dialogue in Witnesses to Faith? Martyrdom in Christianity and Islam edited by Brian Wicker (Ashgate, 2006).
