Jacqueline Shea Murphy

Jacqueline Shea Murphy is a associate professor in the Department of Dance at UC Riverside and author of ‘The People Have Never Stopped Dancing’: Native American Modern Dance Histories, awarded the 2008 de la Torre Bueno Prize®. She has helped bring Indigenous dance studies into visibility to dance scholars by organizing numerous symposia and performance events including regular ‘Indigenous Choreographers at Riverside’ gatherings. She is completing a new book, Choreographing Resurgence: Indigenous Dance Artists Re-Making New Worlds.
