Jennessa Hester

Jennessa Hester is a transgender scholar and poet based in Lubbock, Texas. Her work focuses on the intersection between embodiment, personal identity, community identity and various forms of media both classical and cutting edge. In addition to her research, Jennessa is a Lambda Literary Fellow in poetry and an EDI representative for the Disney, Culture and Society Research Network. She also serves as a managing editor for Iron Horse Literary Review, an assistant editor for the Journal of Cinema and Media Studies and as a member of the editorial board for the International Journal of Disney Studies.
